Position Summary:

The Service Manager is responsible for making a positive impact through the day-to-day operations of the production department. This position will be responsible for preparing and organizing the completion of daily work and management of the production team.

The Service Manager must have excellent management skills such as problem solving, communication, leadership, time management and team building. Every task contributes toward the overall goal of providing great customer service, in a timely and cost-effective manner.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Display and reinforce the Company’s Core Focus and Values.
  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable the production team to meet and exceed customer service requirements for new and existing customers.
  • Participate in the planning, development and execution of strategy for the future development of the department.
  • Help develop and implement programs and training necessary to ensure that all Technicians and Sr. Technicians are aligned with the goals of the department.
  • Hire, supervise, schedule, assess performance, train and coach Technicians and Sr. Technicians to customer service and production requirements.
  • Manage and enforce all company policies and procedures, as well as Health and Safety policies.
  • Manage the production department’s budgets and resources.
  • Plan production routes for each workday and allocate work to Technicians and Sr. Technicians
  • Handle customer concerns in a timely manner.
  • Plan and execute successful, yearly door-knocking campaigns.
  • Ensure all production vehicles & equipment are in working order.
  • Manage inventory levels
  • Ensure production facility(s) are organized, clean, and safe.
  • Prepare reports on a regular basis for review with the Operations Manager.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required to meet the goals of the company.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3 - 4 years in a supervisory position
  • Previous experience in lawn care not required, but an asset
  • Ability to work in a results-oriented team environment
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Mechanical knowledge an asset
  • Customer service oriented
  • Valid pesticide applicators license, or willing to obtain one
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must pass DOT exam
